How I Work

My work is rooted in integrative medicine, blending Traditional
East Asian medicine with modern physiology and current
reproductive research.

I offer collaborative care alongside fertility clinics and OB-GYNs,
and I stay current with emerging research so your treatment is
both evidence-informed and deeply individualized.

Western medicine excels in diagnostics and intervention.
Traditional East Asian medicine offers a different lens, one that
focuses on patterns, constitution, and the subtle regulation of
the nervous system, all of which profoundly influence hormones
and fertility. Together, these approaches often lead to better
outcomes because they support the body from a more holistic
perspective.

I use acupuncture and herbal medicine, to support your body’s
natural regulatory capacity so that whatever path you are on,
whether natural conception, IUI, IVF, or cycle regulation, your
system feels steadier, more resilient, and better supported.

My Path To This Work

I earned my doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Daoist Traditions College in Asheville, NC and a graduate degree in Integrative Medicine from AOMA in Austin, TX.

Before opening my own practice, I worked in a fertility- focused clinic supporting hundreds of patients through natural conception, IVF, IUI, and pregnancy. That experience shaped my clinical focus on reproductive health, hormonal balance, and cycle regulation.

Becoming a parent deepened that understanding even further. Experiencing pregnancy, postpartum, and the everyday realities of caring for a child expanded my appreciation for how much support families need through each stage of life.

Outside of the clinic, you can usually find me adventuring around with my five-year-old, riding bikes through the neighborhood, exploring parks, and appreciating the magic of Portland’s foliage (hurray for cherry blossoms!) I also love reading books on metaphysics, practicing daoist
meditation, knitting, and soaking in water whenever possible.

At the heart of my life and work is a simple intention: to be of service to my community and to help people feel more connected and supported in their bodies, so there is more space for ease, vitality, and joy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer care that is inclusive, affirming, and grounded in respect for all identities and family structures. This includes using gender-inclusive language, tailoring treatments to your body and goals (rather than assumptions), and creating a space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported.

From a clinical perspective, I have experience supporting a range of LGBTQ+ family-building paths, including donor conception, IVF, surrogacy, reciprocal IVF, and fertility preservation. Care is always individualized, whether you’re on hormone therapy, planning ahead, or actively in treatment.

At every step, the goal is to provide thoughtful, collaborative care that honors both your physiology and your lived experience.

  • Acupuncture supports conception by helping the body move into a more regulated, receptive state. It works through the nervous system, supporting a shift out of chronic stress and into a state where the body can prioritize hormone balance and reproductive function.

From a physiological perspective, acupuncture can help improve blood flow to the reproductive organs, support communication between the brain and ovaries, and promote more regular ovulation and menstrual cycles.

We’re also looking at patterns in the body supporting the flow of qi and blood, nourishing what may be depleted, and helping the body find a more balanced rhythm over time.

Together, these shifts can create a more supportive environment for conception, whether you’re trying naturally or with the support of reproductive medicine.

  • Yes. I work closely with people going through IVF and IUI, and I often collaborate with fertility clinics and OB-GYNs. Acupuncture and herbs can support egg quality, uterine lining, stress levels, and overall resilience during treatment.

  • Not at all. You don’t need to be actively trying to conceive to benefit from this work. Supporting your cycle, hormones, and nervous system is foundational to long-term health, whether or not pregnancy is part of your current path.

Many people come in specifically for cycle regulation whether that looks like irregular periods, painful cycles, missing periods, or conditions like PCOS or endometriosis. Acupuncture can help your body find a more steady, supported rhythm, which often has ripple effects on energy, mood, and overall well-being.

  • I am in-network with United Healthcare (not all plans apply). If you’re unsure about your coverage, I recommend checking your acupuncture benefits ahead of time. I’m also happy to provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement.

  • Most people are surprised by how gentle acupuncture feels. The needles are comparable to the thinness of a human hair much finer than any needles used in a typical medical setting and are typically barely felt as they’re inserted.

You might notice a small sensation at first (like a quick pinch, warmth, or a dull, heavy feeling), but it usually passes quickly. Most people feel deeply relaxed during treatment, and some even fall asleep. This is in part because the needles are placed along channels that follow the pathways of the nervous system, helping the body shift into a more calm and regulated state.

I’m a very gentle needler, and your comfort is always a priority. Treatments are paced to your sensitivity, and we can go as slowly and lightly as needed to help you feel at ease.
